Through my 14 years as a university strength & conditioning coach, I learned early on that my job depended on my ability to keep elite athletes healthy and in the game. I had to prioritize injury prevention first, performance second.
I also learned what injury prevention really is. Many people mistakenly think injury prevention is simply adding a few little physiotherapy rehab exercises into your program and calling it prehab. Not a chance! Effective injury prevention is a complete holistic approach to all-around effective training. EVERYTHING from pre-screening and assessment, warm-ups, movement training, power training, strength training, exercise selection, training variables, conditioning, and recovery are carefully selected and programmed to prevent injury AND improve performance.
At Curastream, we have the rehab tools you need to fix your problems and get healthy. However, we know that’s not enough. Most rehab programs only treat your symptoms, so we also pick up where most rehab programs end. The traditional rehabilitation process fails miserably because it fails to address the root cause of the problem. For example, just because you have pain in your shoulder does not mean you have a shoulder problem. It could be an issue with your scapular stability, thoracic spine mobility or a breathing dysfunction. Our assessment tools and live consultations will help you get to the root of your problem so you can fix the issue for good. If your job depends on a healthy, highly functioning body, you are what we call an occupational athlete. Your safety at work and your ability to get your job done and support your loved ones depend on you staying healthy and being in great shape.
Maybe fitness is your thing. You want to put up big numbers in the gym and turn heads at the beach. Good luck trying to build an epic deadlift or sexy legs if you have low back pain. Just try to build big strong pecs with shoulder problems. You will never achieve your fitness goals or build the body you want if you can’t stay healthy so you can train optimally.
